We are followers of Jesus Christ first and foremost. As he ascended into heaven Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. (Matt. 28:19,20) NIV" I felt God spoke to my heart in 1985 to go to Russia and share the Gospel shortly after I was baptized in the Holy Spirit. It was in obedience to that call that I went to North Central University, pastored, and later, finally, to Russia.
~~~~ How We Are Supported ~~~~
We have two primary means of support - spiritual and physical - that comes from loyal friends of the Harvest. The spiritual support is through prayer, without which we would have long ago given up or perished in numerous near disasters (See Russia Tales). The financial support is from generous Saints who give individually or through their churches. These gifts are sent to AGWM (Assemblies of God World Missions) in Springfield, MO, processed and then passed on to us. We pray for those who support us and are very grateful for their sacrifices. Click here for details on how to give.
Whats Happening!
Please Pray for Doug's health. He is dealing with Arthritis due to his psoriasas. It is very painful. We are seeking treatment options thats are also available in Russia.
Kate and Meri continue to progress in their college endeavors. Both seem to be really pleased with where they are. Meri is involved in Russian classes and may use her language skills acquired on the field. Kate is helping at a pregnancy center and has great friends in her dorm. Some of the girls being Russian speaking. Chris is doing well at school and recently was selected as MVP for his soccer team.
Please also pray for Hinkson Christian Academy which is also facing difficult visa issues concerning the teachers. This where Erlene teaches and kids have gone to school in Moscow.
The Russian pentecostal church continues to grow and the new leadership continues to set their sights high for establishing more churches. So many of even our major cities do not even have one church. It is also interesting to see pastors we have known for years move into national leadership positions. God grant them grace and ability to lead with all diligence.
Doug was thinking the other day how after a period of missions time there were great growth in places like Africa and South America. May Russias time come soon.
